My Approach & Philosophy

My work focuses on helping clients heal from complex trauma, PTSD, dissociation, anxiety, and mood disorders through evidence-based and compassionate care.

I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy—two powerful trauma recovery modalities that help clients process painful experiences, restore emotional balance, and reconnect with their inner sense of calm and self-leadership.

My approach is grounded in safety, collaboration, and curiosity. I believe that healing happens at your own pace, and that therapy provides a space to reconnect with the parts of yourself that are ready to heal. Before founding my private practice, I spent over a decade working in community and outpatient mental health, helping individuals navigate trauma, mood disorders, and life transitions. Those experiences taught me that lasting change begins when people feel truly seen, supported, and empowered to lead their own healing.

All Are Welcome

As an affirming ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, I welcome clients of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and life experiences. My goal is to provide a space where you can be fully seen and supported as you move toward authenticity, empowerment, and healing.

About Me

Hi, I’m Mateusz.  I am EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and Certified IFS Therapist, and I provide online therapy for adults across Massachusetts and Connecticut.

I specialize in working with complex trauma, PTSD, dissociation, anxiety, and mood-related challenges. My approach is grounded in safety, collaboration, and curiosity—I want therapy to feel like a space where you can show up as you are, without pressure to have everything figured out.

I use EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) as part of my work. These approaches help us gently process painful experiences, make sense of what’s happening internally, and reconnect with a sense of calm, clarity, and self-leadership. We move at your pace, always in a way that feels manageable and respectful of where you are.

Before starting my private practice, I spent over a decade working in community and outpatient mental health. That experience shaped how I show up today—I’ve seen how meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen, supported, and empowered in their own healing.

I’m also a parent, which continues to deepen my understanding of patience, connection, and the importance of showing up with presence in everyday life.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy hockey, hiking, staying active, and I’m a big fan of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics—all things that help me stay grounded and connected in my own life.

For hobbies, I also enjoy rock climbing, and watching Futurama and Rick and Morty!

I am most proud to be a coach for the Miracle League of Western Massachusetts, a baseball league for kids with special needs and disabilities.  The motto for the league is that every child deserves a chance to play baseball. Being a coach for this league aligns with my value as a therapist: everyone should have access to the support that they need to thrive and achieve their goals. I am all about inclusivity.

“Mateusz is exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about his work. His expertise in EMDR and Internal Family Systems makes him the therapist I trust to refer clients to when those skills are needed.” — Mat Barbosa, MA, LMHC
